But the scoops design that adorns notecards, onesies, and melamine plates was not the only thing that caught my eye. Shop owner, April, creates fun and playful designs that that reminded me of my childhood and the current fascinations of my own children: ice cream, puppies, bikes, helicopters, and more. Her designs make me feel happy.
April says, "I want my items to put a smile on people's faces and make them feel like a kid again." And I certainly think she's reached her goal.
Little Korboose products are inspired by things that make April feel like a kid again: hobbies like cycling and her kitty cat. Her cat, named after the Swiss-French architect Corbusier, is also the name sake of her company. She calls her kitty Little Corbuse for short, but spelled the name phonetically for her company so that people would pronounce it correctly. I think that also adds to the fun, child-like theme her products follow.

I smiled and felt respect when I learned that April is an environmentally conscious artist. She makes it a point to sell organic, recycled, recyclable, or sustainable products. When speaking of customer's expectations she said, "I want them to find comfort knowing that my materials are safe, natural, sustainable and/or reusable." For example, the organic cotton onesies she sells are "made with cotton that has not been bleached or processed with any chemicals". I was also interested to learn that her melamine plates and bowls are unbreakable and therefore, sustainable.
April says, "I also want [consumers] to know that when they buy my products they are contributing to the US economy (and no slave labor was used) because the items are manufactured domestically."

I found it very cool that one of April's favorite products to make and sell is the lime green bicycle plate (pictured above), because that is certainly one of my favorite items in her shop. What little (or big) kid wouldn't like to eat of a plate as cool as that?!
Today is Little Korboose's one-year Etsy-versary. Celebrate! Make it memorable! Head on over to the shop and purchase an item that makes you feel like a kid again!
